Finding an old memory strip and desoldering sounds like a good way
to get several chips. In fact, if there's space for making changes, you
could solder the strip connector tabs to your board and have 4MB x 8 or
better with a lot less hassle than messing with individual chips.
It would be kind of fun to take an Apple II+ or IIe and replace the
mem chips with a 4MB x 8 strip pulled from a PC.
