I think cheerleading is a very good way of getting the more capable of the
programmers and hardware developers into gear. One shouldn't forget, that its
often the cheerleaders that get something rolling by collecting the
appropriate feedback from the masses.
So, although I'm not particularly into a GUI, I do feel moved by the ideas.

That's my neutral point of view on this subject.
