First of all, you could send one of those IIGS's my way... =)
Seriously, a while ago on the list there was a thread detailing how valuable
IIGS's were to people working with those having special needs. I'd recommend
searching csa2 on Deja News for the phrase "wheelchair-bound": I remember that
being a term of contention on that thread. You might find someone to unload
at least those.
And second, as someone with a similar affliction (but only having stacks of
computers, about 25, and not stacks and stacks), I recognize your plight. We
with apartments full of Apple IIs are like the mythic dragon hoarding gold and
holding virgins captive. We can't use all of it, but we need to protect it.
I understand the need to provide good homes for these computers.
Having said that, realize that you probably won't find homes for the computers
themselves without the trip to goodwill. Apart from the IIGSs, pretty much
everyone who wants one has one, and if they don't, they'd rather wait for
something to come along near home than pay postage.
I would recommend, though, that you try to get rid of the cards, peripherals,
books, etc. on csa2.marketplace. I at least would be interested in some of
the stuff. Just post a list off the top of your head of the most interesting
stuff that you have, and if that gets a good response, keep on going.
Good luck with your "plight",
-Michael
