This is good to know. The info will be added to our FAQs.

In your tests, how much of the shield was removed? Do you know how
much difference removing it made? For example, was there some
interference Before and a lot more After?

My tests were done in a separate dwelling (i.e. not an apartment,
dorm, etc.) and focused upon effects in our 'Computer Room'. Turning ON
the GS produces some interference with or without shielding and the
level seems to be the same.

One problem with R/TV interference is that its level and kind is
dependent upon many factors beyond the particular radiating device. For
example, I can get virtually complete elimination of GS-produced Radio
station interference by simply turning ON a printer connected to our PC.
The shielding did not help at all. Evidently, quite a lot of
interference is radiated via your AC power lines.

Basically, it looks like each user will have to weigh the
trade-offs for his/her situation. If you remove the lid and do not like
the way Radio or TV reception is affected, leave the shielding alone. If
the result is acceptable, scrap the shielding.
