Woe now...I never said null modem itself was bad. I was saying that
null modem without the help of Zmodem and CRC error checking is
bad. There is a BIG difference...
Also, I did not say that you could get a sustained rate of 56,700, only
that you should set the COMPUTERS at 56,700 so that they can go
as fast as the terminal programs are able to transfer.
With Zmodem and CRC-32, files come through intact and the speed
through the phone wiring is no less than the speed through null
modem if those modems are 28.8 or above. If your computers are
in different rooms, the phone wiring is the way to go...
