It is possible to hook up a 1.4MB PC drive; but, you may have to
build the interface yourself. Practically speaking, you will want to
hook up Apple-compatible 3.5" drives to an Apple IIe 3.5" drive
interface.

For 3.5" drives, you will want to use ProDOS.
