The EX/2 used a newer version of the gate arrays (the video and 3.5" disk
sections of the gate arrays were heavily modified as I recall), and
therefore has better output (i.e. color seperation, etc.) on lower end
models.  Basically, the EX/2 was used to fix all the minor "quirks" found
in the previous machines.
