Sometimes, a statement is worth a thousand words. Take the
recent talk of possible upgrades from CMD. A 20Mhz accelerator
or a revived TurboRez GS would be quantum leaps for the GS and
are still highly desirable for many enthusiasts. If you qualify every
GS development by comparing it against a Pentium or PowerPC,
then of course there is no point in upgrading the GS. If you see
the GS as a fun, hacker computer, then the outlook is different.
Many people want to upgrade these golden computers for the sake
of doing the "impossible." Why do you think people buy the SCU
accelerators for the C64 and C128? As an individual, you may not
want to upgrade. I can understand if you were directly comparing
a PCI 3D accelerator card to the TurboRez why you won't. That's
no reason to water down the enthusiasm and lessen the chances
for others...
