The System 6.0 Laserwriter driver works better with third party printers
than the 6.0.1 driver. Swap the drivers and see if the problem clears
up. The second thing you might consider is to ditch the network.
According to an article on Postscript laser printers from GS+ Magazine
and according to the Publish-It! manual, the GS works best when
directly connected to a laser printer. Try unplugging your PC from the
(serial? parallel?) port and connecting your GS to it. Then shut down
Appletalk by disabling all the Appletalk files on the GS. A third thing
to try is to see if your Epson laser printer has Epson LQ 500 series
emulation. If it does, you can use the Harmonie LQ printer drivers with
this printer at a full 360 dots per inch in Epson mode.
