I agree. When heirarchical menus came on the scene Apple missed the boat
on adding sticky menus at the same time. Thank goodness they've seen the
light with Mac OS 8.x

Apple's whole premise for the one button mouse was that they didn't
want the user to remember which button was for what function. I do
think that they have a nice solution with the new contextual menus
in the latest Mac OS. Admittedly, holding down the control key while
clicking could basically be done with a second mouse button. But, I
do like how the choice of functions are presented to you via a pop-up
menu...right under your pointer...and only with the choices needed
at the given moment. I think we'll see this in other systems in the
future.
