Older versions of Classic Appleworks (v4 and under I think) included the
ability to 'print' a database or spreadsheet file in DIF (Data ?Interchange
Format).  Treat the resulting file as text only when transfering it to
the PC.
Microsoft Excel recognizes DIF.  I always start the program first, then open
the text file.  Once in Excel, you can move it to a compatible database.
