Until you've made the toolbox call, and discovered that the toolbox
(ie, the OS) has a bug, I can't imagine how anyone could be so
paranoid as to consider the call "possibly risky".

Unless, of course, you have no faith in the OS generally.  Are you
suggesting that this is the case for either yourself or Sheppy?
