AppleWorks Desktop full

hello, i posted earlier about transferring ProDOS files from a //c to a
Mac and i wanted to thank everyone who replied; it's working like a
charm but for 3 files.

276 lines of one are read and generate a "Desktop Full. Action not
completed" error. i managed to get 345 lines of one read by opening it
as ascii before i received the msg.

as far as i know, i have an unenhanced //c (model# A2S4000): none of
AppleWorks 4.3 enhanced options can be enabled. is there a way to
increase the memory available to the Desktop? aggregate the memory of
the (3) Desktops? load only the most essential parts of the program?

or, is there a way to open the file in chunks/portions? according to the
manual, the practical doc size is 5 pages/300 lines "128k IIe or IIc"
and max is over 300 pages (no models listed). these files are 30 pages
at most.
this isn't the //c these files were created on (long vanished), but i
remember mine having keys the color of the case (a bone/off-white); this
one has the same case, but darker (cream?) keys.

any (further) help would be (still) greatly appreciated; please respond
via email.
thanks for your continued assistance.
