I've watched this insane thread long enough without commenting:
Sheppy *did not screw up*!  He was screwed by an OS bug.
He never uncovered the bug during testing.  (Not reliably,
anyway.)  He could fix the problem with a patch, or a 3rd party
patcher, like GUPP, could do it.  I'm sure a good solution has
either been issued, or will come soon.

Your rants have asserted that this dedicated programmer was
too sloppy to fix a bug in his code.  This is not only
slanderously untrue, it is a gross insult to someone who
has given such a great piece of s/w to the community.

Now, please, can we let this thread die?
