IIgs's are so inexpensive now, I don't know why you would want to go to 
the trouble to get a CT-## hard drive.  I think these are rare drives, and 
they should be pretty slow.

If you did do this, and later found a card you wanted to use, you might 
not be able to use it because of the dead slots.


One of the great things about an Apple II is the expansion slots.
