Thanks so much for your input Steve.  The info you gave perplexes me; I
would think that the reason to replace the GALs would be that they will
not work / cannot sync to the fast speed at which I will be running the
card.  So how would the new chips be related to that?

I am reading out of a TWGS upgrading article from February of 1993
written by Andrew Roughan.  It DOES say that the voltage modification is
no longer necessary, but still lists the knowm minimum GAL chip versions
(nearly all of which are lower on mine) and states that updated chips are
probably needed for going above 10 MHz on the TransWarp.

I have the old TransWarp GS with the 8 KB cache.  I plan to upgrade the
cache (thereby also upgrading the static-RAMs), replace the 65c816 with
the 16MHz one and change the oscillator, and I thought I had to change
the GALs, but maybe not.  Does anyone else know whether my existing GALs
will work for sure?

Oh yeah, by the way, the versions of the GAL chips I have in there are
TWGS1A1, TWGS2A1, TWGS3B1, TWGS4A1, TWGS5A1, TWGS6A1, TWGS7A1, TWGS8A1.

BTW the article says I need at least:
TWGS1A1, TWGS2B1, TWGS3E1, TWGS4B1, TWGS5A1, TWGS6A1, TWGS7A1, TWGS8B1.

You can never have too much info!!!
