I have seen projects with this as well, mostly homebrew kind of stuff,
though.  You can get the specs on this port from the IIgs hardware
reference, if you don't already have them.  One thing to note if you're
going off of the IIe reference.  There is no strobe here on the IIgs.  It
has been changed to Button 3 for joysticks.
