ZModem and Proterm 3
OK, first of all, let me admit that I'm becoming forgetful in
my old age. I used to know what I was doing, but I've forgotten.
Maybe someone here can help me out.
I just grabbed Wolf3D onto my unix box at work. I tried to
dial into work using Proterm, and use "sz" to transfer the
file to my IIgs. I've transferred files like this dozens of
times. But I've been away from my machine for a while, and
have evidently forgotten how it works, because now I just get
errors.
(If you want to know why I've been away, visit my homepage:

Anyway, I seem to be able to transfer text files OK, but any
binary files screw up. Proterm tells me that CRC does not
match data, and that it got a subpacket when it was expecting
a header. A few bytes get through (enough for it to determine
that it is BXY file, and that it will make me a SHK file)
but Proterm gives up due to too many errors.
(I've tried other files, too, so I know it isn't a bad file.)
I'm using "sz" by Omen, which happens to be the one on my work
system. I assume it is a fairly normal implementation.
I've tried using the "-b" flag to force binary, but to no
avail. It defaults to 32 bit CRC, and I've set the appropriate
flag in Proterm. I've also tried 16 bit CRC. No joy.
I've tried having the "Force 1K sends" flag on and off. No joy.
I've tried the "-e" flag to force escaping of all CTRL chars,
but this prevents Proterm from receiving the filename.
Can someone please suggest to me how I can get these two
programs talking to each other once again?
