14Mhz is *extremely* touchy. Not every GS can handle that, and it's
a function of ROM version, quantum thermodynamics, other cards in
machine, phase of moon, ambient temperature, number of prayers you've
said recently, among several other important factors. Plus, you've got
diminishing returns, as you're still locked to the 2.5 or 1Mhz bus for
any transfers to/from main memory-- there's only so much that can run
solely from cache.
It's better to get stable at something reachable like 12Mhz, work
your way up until it becomes unstable and then back off. That is,
unless you want to claim "X Mhz" for bragging rights and only see
crash screens.
