Downloading from internet for GS

I've got a question regarding using my GS to call a UNIX shell. I can
easily get through and use the shell, the only problem is that with
downloading. I use a 14.4 USR Sportster modem with Proterm and Spectrum
and every time I go to download with my "sz filename" command, I error out
with CRC errors. I don't get much further than 10 seconds until I error
out and the transfer stops. I've tried playing around with various
settings, it's not just zmodem; it's x and y as well.

My question is this - has anyone had this trouble before? Does anyone
have any suggestions to as what my settings should be (bin, text, etc)
while downloading from the shell? Of course, I am downloading apple II
files which I got off the ground through FTP.

Incidently - Kermit works to download, but when it comes time to unshrink
or unbinscii, I get CRC errors and it won't do it. SHK's are damaged,
BSC's corrupted.

Any suggestions? I have 6.01, but have tried 6.0 to see if there was s
conflict... no luck! Thanks a lot!
