I finally opened up my Franklin to see what she has inside. What I
found was the RGB card and the RAM card with 8 empty sockets. I went
ahead and pulled 8 RAM chips from an Apple ][+ that I've been keeping
for parts and put them in the empty sockets. Don't know if that will
do anything useful or not, but I assume it won't hurt the system
anyway.
I noticed that there are jumpers on both the RGB and RAM cards, as
well as on the motherboard itself. Anyone know what the different
settings for these jumpers do?
Also, what do the DIP switches on the back panel do?
I still have not been able to get her to boot from the disk drive.
Any ideas what might be the problem? When I power her up, Drive 1
just spins until I hit CONTROL-RESET to get to the Applesoft prompt.
Any help here would be greatly appreciated. To date, I have found no
info on the 2200 except for a few old postings in the Deja News
archives.
