Re: Kabel font for GS?

Sunny Jim couldn't help but dribble back at some folks:

     | : I thought that Pointless converted True Type fonts in
     | : Macintosh format, not in Windows format.

No conversion, Pointless just enables the GS to use Mac TT's. BUT
there are products to convert Windows TT's to Apple-able format. :)

     | : the archive now with the Mac shareware program and detailed
     | : instructions on how to convert PC <-> Mac <-> GS TrueType

Old way -- use whatever Mac program you have to convert a PC font to
a Mac font, then move it to a GS and set the filetype to $C8/0001.

New way -- get the PC font onto your GS, and run FontPimp. :)

     | nonsense. Now, if you are looking for a GS program that
     | converts the font (ie, you don't have a Mac) it probably depends
     | on how long you want to wait. Several posts to this group have
     | suggested that there is a GS program around the corner that will
     | handle conversions from Windows TT to GS TT formats.

Nice hint job, Jim, my fellow FontPimp beta-tester... :) Yes, I
confirm that a Windows to GS font converter is in the works -- in fact,
exists, and works swimmingly -- and will be premering shortly (JoKo,
expect a sample in the mail in short order).
