OT: Late 80's Infomercial - Type of Computer?

This is off-topic but was spawned by the Apple 1->WarGames->WOPR thread. I
figured the folks who frequent this joint may know the answer.

I remember sometime between 1987-1989 one of those half-hour late night
infomercials that was in the format of a phoney talk show and had a "boy
genius" as the guest. He was demonstarting this "incredibly sophisticated
device" which actually was a very crude (even by the standards of the time)
lunchbox luggable PC of some sort with a tiny black and white built in screen.
The PC used 5 1/4" and kicked output onto a nine pin dot matrix. The program
that this would-be Einstein was wowing the audience with was an early copy of
Print Shop. Of course, they were selling this "stellar, space age device" at
some discount price for "you today only my friend." (it ran non-stop
everynight for two years it seemed =).

My question is: What type of PC? I remember thinking it was a Commodore 64
clone but now I am not sure since I never heard of a portable 64 since then
with a tiny b/w monitor. Even back then I remember laughing at it with my
friends and not believing how guillable (sp?) people would be to buy such a
clunker. However, they were able to get away with it then because the vast
majority of the populace still knew zilcho about computers at all (my brother
and mom used to get pissed at me being online all the time, not understanding
it at all, ten years later they are both AOL junkies of the worst stripe).

I was living in Cincinnati, Ohio at the time but I believe the ads were
nationally run on cable systems.

If anybody else remembers this funny system and can say what it was, I would
enjoy hearing about it via followup postings.

Thanks.

Sincerely,
