   There are varying reports of success with this method, mostly due
to the fact that the disk media changed magnetic properties slightly.
Some have no problems doing this, some report instant failure, and
some have initial success, but can't read the disk some months
later. [That last case is the worst, as you think it's working, but it
bites you later.]

   No matter what you do, I'd still recommend a good backup system.

   I found a bunch of vendors selling them thru
http://www.pricewatch.com/ (Storage-> Media -> 3.5"), or you could buy
a _Computer Shopper_ magazine and look thru the ads in back.
