Oh yeah, I forgot another tactic to reduce the incidence of crashes/
freezes with my Apple IIgs systems:
18) Lock the Desktop file in the Icons directory in the boot partition.
This will prevent inconsiderate programs filling up the Desktop
file with buggy icons and other junk that will sooner or later lead
to a crash/freeze.
Also, Todd Whitesel mentioned:
19) Regularly remove dust from the motherboard and peripheral cards to
prevent a slow accumulation of "conductive paths between the pins
that is just like dropping resistors into the schematic of the IIgs
and connecting them to randomly chosen signal wires."
Also, Mitchell Spector mentioned:
20) Use "the built-in editor in ProTERM 3.1, if you can manage with the
45K limit and lack of a spell checker" instead of buggy GS word
processors such as AW-GS.
Any more helpful hints out there?
Thanks all...
