So when exactly did Dr. Tom finally make good on his promises
to leave us all?  I went away for Christmas vacation, and when
I returned he was gone, and Nathan's .sig no longer referred
to him.

His WWW page gives no clues, and I've checked DejaNews for a
farewell post, but nada.

Did he slip away like a thief in the night, or was there a
lot of fanfare and handwringing?
