    Not quite, it was not until March 1988 that Apple officially began
shipping the Apple IIgs with 512K. Furthermore, they just included the
bare 256K Memory Expansion Card, if you wanted it fully populated you
had to pay extra for that. It was not until late 1989 that Apple sold
the GS with 1 MB installed (on the motherboard) as standard -- the
exact amount was 1.125 MB (1152K).
