Is there something about the Sider that requires this? Or do people not like
hitting "8" during the IIgs ROM banner screen? System 6.0.1 would check for
that and run P8 instead of going straight to GS/OS.
Matt Deatherage had that feature put in after continually telling us not to
"dash boot" GS/OS on the grounds that it was not safe. He never would tell
us exactly what sorts of things might go wrong, unfortunately.
These days I make A.H.H.H.SYSTEM my first system file and have the "8" reflex
down so rebooting into P8 for proterm/appleworks is no problem.
