Yep, but most of those classics were ported to the 8-bit Apple II
using fuzzy High-Res graphics and internal speaker toggling for sound.
In some cases the gameplay was just as fun but they hardly do justice
to the original arcade versions.
Only a small handful of arcade games were ever ported to the IIgs,
and of those, the only examples of ports that came fairly close to the
originals were those by Taito. Arkanoid, Arkanoid II, Puzznic and Rastan
are almost good enough where you could stick them in an arcade cabinet
and most people wouldn't know the difference. Marble Madness wasn't too
bad either, although its been over a decade since I saw the original.
Then of course there were ports like Paperboy and Gauntlet, which were
so awful it wasn't even funny (a shame too, since the GS could have
pulled off decent arcade ports of those two).
