Here's an idea...why don't you both shut the hell up? I don't recall
this group being called "Mac sucks and here's why...". I'm getting tired
of sitting here and sorting through 50 different replies by you two about
whether MacOS should allow optional drivers. Who cares? Start your own
group about it and stop wasting other people's time.
Of course PC Exchange supports PC disks more than ProDOS disk. Formost
average users the Apple II support is pointless. While still a very nice
machine, for all intents and purposes the Apple II is dead. It has been
discontinued long ago. I think the fact that Apple supports it at all is
amazing. I think requiring a driver for each disk is insignifigant compared
to other problems that MacOS doesn't share with the PC world. Sit down for
an hour and try to sort out IRQ conflicts on a PC loaded with stuff and
you'll realize that option drivers is not all that important. Or try getting
your Apple II to run AppleWorks while at the same time running a web
browser. I really don't think this problem is worth the time it took to
write this.
Keep this newsgroup Apple II only. Stop filling it with your pointless
whining about something barely relavent.
