IIgs telnet via mac?

I have a IIgs, and a PowerMacintosh 8500. I'd like to be able to telnet
from the IIgs (ie, net terminal in another room). can i do this via the
mac? connect the IIgs via serial to the mac, go out over the mac's direct
net connection? the serial cable would be easy enough but what software
could i use?
