Yep, The Calcomp 'pizza ovens' were quite the rage back then. They
were the hottest things around. The interface was a two board set
centered around an 8080 (yes, the same as on the the processor board).
It was their 'Intelligent Controller". I remember the day we got the
PerSci 8" drives in for evaluation. 2 floppy slots in less volume than
a single Calcomp *and* they sucked the floppy right out of your hand
when inserted. Floppies were ejected by software command or by pushing
the button on the front of the drive. Pure sex.
Until the 5 1/4 drives came out. Did anybody ever call those things
anything but 'cute!'?
