Although the cable fits, the GS RGB monitor is not at all
compatible with the IIc. (I once tried the same swap-- pretty
disconcerting! However, both the GS monitor-- connected to a GS-- and
the IIc+ still work fine.)

The IIc connector does mate nicely with a small for-IIc RF module
which will let you connect to the VHF antenna inputs of a TV. You can
get very good 40-col Text, hires, and double-hires color displays this
way; but, you can forget about 80-col Text.

Basically, if you want to display 80-col Text, you will need to
find some composite video monitors and use the usual RCA-type output.
For good 80-col Text, most composite mono monitors work okay. If you
also want color, try one of the Apple brand IIe monitors. Some of these
are said to supply decent 80-col Text. Possibly, one of the surplus
sellers of Apple II components would be happy to swap good IIe composite
color monitors (guaranteed for 80-col Text) for working GS RGB monitors.
