I finished Wizardry 2
Thanks, everyone.
After figuring out what was wrong, I finished in around 15 more minutes.
It seems that the disk image on Asimov includes four characters that already
have the armor. If you try playing with that disk image and don't realize
you have to delete the characters, you can't win, because the armor pieces
just never show up.
The text files on Asimov should probably include a big warning for Wizardry 2
about deleting all the characters. (Is the maintainer of the archive reading?)
I wanted to play Wiz 1 and 2 ever since I saw them around 1983, but the
computer I had was an Atari 800. It got the early Ultimas, but it never got
Wizardry.
I probably should watch the animation now... (yes, I do have access to that,
but it's in Japanese)
On to Wiz 3.... I wonder if I'll finish them all before Wizardry 8 comes
out.
(By the way, does anyone have a used PC Wizardry 5 to sell? A version that
runs on a modern PC, that is.)

So I built a fourth one. That fell into a time warp and _then_ sank into the
swamp. But the fifth one... stayed up! --Monty Python/Babylon 5
