I realize I'm going against the grain here, but I'll offer this
opinion.

I have one,  a recent model, and have no problems with it at all.  The
partitioning is automatic, no jumpers to set, it makes as many 32 meg
partitions as necessary to use the entire drive.  

If you just need a hard drive, and aren't worried about zip drives or
cd-roms, then it's a bargain.  It's a little slower, but not much.  I
also have a rev b ramfast, and there just isn't much difference.
Mainly it's slower booting GSOS, but once it's up, it's about the
same.  For the amount of use my gs gets, it's more than adequate.

The only drawback is that when booting Prodos, only 2 volumes are
visible, as Sx D1 and 2, where x is the slot the card is in.  But they
are easily remapped before booting, so you can see whatever 2
partitions you want.  Under GS/OS all partitions are visible.

I almost bought a new Ramfast rev d board, but after thinking about it
I realized it's a bit silly to spend 2 times what the computer is
worth for a SCSI board!
