   Yes, but with the serial ports on it, you're likely to get
character lossage at the higher speeds. You can give it a try
though.

   Past 9600, modem port speed is not what the modem actually
transmits as. Thanks to things like compression, the 14400-capable
signal over the phone line _may_ be expanded to something greater
before being handed to the computer. Thus, you want to use a higher
modem port speed to handle all the data being shoved at you. 28.8 and
33.6 modems should have a port speed of 57600, and the "56K" (*cough*
bull**** *cough*) modems the 115200 or better.
