Mac SE/30
I know this message is a little bit to way far off, but I'm hoping someone can
help me. My computer that I use to connect to the internet is an IBM (I know
its a piece of crap, but it's all I've got right now). I want to put AOL on the
SE/30, but I need the 32bit system extention dohickey thingie (A file by apple
that allows the SE/30 to run in 32bit mode). I download the file, which is a
SEA archive that is binhexed to the ibm. I then move the SE/30 into another
room with a different phone line. The IBM calls the SE/30 with a terminal
program over the modem. I transfer the file and then use Stuffit Expander to
debixhex (or exorcise?) the file. My question is Why doesn't this work? The
file that comes out is not a SEA archive. It's just some nameless file as far
as my mac is concerned. Does my IBM damage the file or something? Any help
would be appreciated.
