   If you can find a workstation card for the //e, that'll let you
install Appletalk and share a drive from the Mac only. [No way for the
Mac to mount things on the Apple II side; Apple never could be
bothered to make a server for them.] Thus, you'll have to do all the
copying from the Apple II side.

   With a serial card added to a //e (*far* cheaper and easier to
find, especially down under), and a terminal program on both ends, you
can null modem things across. Forget any Apple-worshipping claims as
to the "inelegance" of that method, it's simple, and works damn well
from that the //e to *anything*, instead of being locked to computers
with the fruity logo on front.

   Null modem is *simple* and *robust*. And that is true elegance in
design, versus a complicated near-proprietary setup requiring rare
hardware. But, some have a quota of public worship of the fruity logo
they must accomplish, and so they'll say stupid things.
