This is true.  DIN-5 connectors are generally used for audio, and the
official numbering is something like...
  2   3  Or something strange like that.  My point is that the markings
   4 5   on the connector (if any) do not match the markings in the FAQ
    1    (and, apparently, in the hardware manual) but if you use the
pin POSITIONS as shown in the FAQ, it will work just fine.
