But which of the two, Mike, gives only the foreground app the majority
of cpu cycles - forcing other apps to wait until the foreground app
releases itself from the current run queue?

I think the differentiation being made here is between OS-controlled
multitasking versus application controlled.

Nevertheless, hose the OS and both go down. :)
