It probably is but...

You have a ROM 00 and you need a ROM 01 to do anything useful with the
machine. That version was buggy and was updated for free by Apple
Computer. Ask around to your local user groups, or you might try emailing

<mailto: "Tony Diaz" t.diaz@genie.geis.com>

who is Alltech Electronics and may be able to help you. Unfortunately
this address is really old and may no longer be valid. Perhaps someone
else can offer an newer one.

The answer to the second question is no. Try comp.sys.apple2.marketplace
for used AppleColor RGB monitors and try to find the FAQ on this topic for
non-Apple monitors that work. Be warned, it's probably the monitors that
go first on a IIgs system and are cannot be replaced with the original
item. Both my AppleColor RGBs are giving me trouble at this point. I'd
try to find a non-Apple monitor that is not as old as the last Apple one
made. There is also at least one more option, a Second Sight card and a
PC monitor.
