October 31st, 2010 will be the last day for the A2Central BBS. The news site
will continue to operate and we're probably going to expand it's capabilities
in the future.
The BBS was intended to replace the Syndicomm Communities site, which had
telnet access, IRC, message forums, etc. At the time, it made sense as the
Syndicomm and CSA2 communities were somewhat segregated. I'm pleased to say
that is no longer the case. We have a united community and the BBS is rather
redundant with CSA2. The only thing we're going to keep going is the
IRC channel -- which will be moved to another server. The files we keep on the
BBS FTP site will be moved to a download area on the A2Central news site.
A few people used A2Central for usenet access. I'm sorry, but you'll have to
find another provider for usenet access. There are several free options out
there.
I apologize if this inconveniences anyone. Watch the A2Central news site for
future announcements on when we're cutting over to the IRC server and other
useful bits of information.
