If you run your GS in monochrome mode, a composite monitor will work
fine. Don't try it in color unless you want your brain to implode
messily.

When my GS monitor was dysfunctional, I was using a Commodore
composite monitor and had no problems with it. Fortunately, I got it
fixed for almost nothing, just in exchange for that same Commie
monitor and a copy of GSOS 5.04. This was at a place here in
Bremerton called Smitty's. He didn't charge me for it because he said
I've been very helpful in getting some old stuff out of his shop (a
KayPro II, an Atari 5200 Diagnostics cartridge, a couple of Atari 800
diagnostic carts, the control box for the Atari 2600 wireless
controllers, and some CoCo stuff.) Except for the CoCo stuff,
everything was just given to me. :3

This is a place I highly recommend BTW.
