   Depends on your particular GS, other cards in the system, phase of
the moon, room temerature, and other fun stuff. But, as the limiting
factor is the motherboard and slow access thru it for anything
non-cached, you run into diminishing returns-- you wait more and more
for the motherboard. About 14Mhz is the top limit of most systems, but
flakiness increases dramatically as it goes that fast, so you may find
12-13Mhz far more stable and thus desirable.
