Hi. I'm a student setting up a GS lab in my school. We are using
Taifunboot and are having some trouble. We are trying to set up two
systems as
explained in the documentation. It doesn't seem to work.
The documentation say to copy PRODOS, ICON folder, and the SYSTEM
folder and to rename to PRODOS.1, ICON.1, and SYSTEM.1. In the SYSTEM.1
folder,
I erase an Init file that puts up the background. I then reboot and enter
Taifunboot. I go to the spot where it says 1 and click on `Add System.'
The
program reconizes PRODOS.1 and the other folders and asks to describe the
system. I put in `ImageWriter System.' I click on `Save Configuration.' I
reboot. Taifunboot comes up at reboot, like it should, and I click on the
system I just added. I click on `OK.' It should open the system using
System.1.
If it did, the background would not show up. It does none of this.
Taifunboot
closes and then reopens. The system I just added is now gone. I open the
original system and look on the hard drive. What do I see? I see that
PRODOS.1,
ICON.1, and SYSTEM.1 are now PRODOS.0, ICON.0, and SYSTEM.0. I changed the
names back, and tried again. It does the same thing. I reread the
documentation
and found nothing that could help my problem. If anyone has ever tried
running
two systems, or has the program and could duplicate the problem, any help
can
be useful.
Thanks!!

P.S. Sorry for the crappy format. New editer.
P.P.S. Heres the reason we want two systems:
We want two systems because there is one GS with two printers
hooked to
it. A LaserWriter is hooked up via AppleTalk. There is also an ImageWriter
that
is direct connected. We are using GS/OS and want two setup the same
system, but
one with LaserWriter with AppleTalk and the other using the ImageWriter
without
AppleTalk. The first system has LaserWriter and Apple talk. The second
system,
the one I'm trying to set up, I want without AppleTalk and with the
ImageWriter
hooked up. I can't figure out the second.
