Not anywhere close to the same thing.

It's not a matter of semantics. If you had used a Mac, you'd know exactly
what I meant by "hierarchical menus" on a Mac.

You'd also know that the Win95 version sucks, compared to the Mac version.

The Mac version is fully dynamic. Add a folder and everything in that
folder immediately becomes available from the Apple menu, along with
everything nested further down. Win95 doesn't offer that.
