Steve White - You are as clueless as ever.
Really now? I am an "admitted pirate"? Now the only thing I have "admitted
to" was copying software some 10 years ago in the glorious apple II heyday!
Yes, I pirated software like SkyFox and AppleWorks and stuff. I was 16 years
old then, and well... I have no excuse for what I did. My only redeeming point
was that I *did* purchase software like Turbo Pascal (remember the old nasty
CP/M version) and Bards Tale 1-3 and Dragon Wars etc etc etc. Hey, I didn't
pirate *everything*. But alas, I *was* a pirate at 16 years old. I will burn in
hell.
Then again, I also used to throw over-ripe plums from a tree onto cars driving
along a city street in Simi Valley too. So, I guess that means that I am still
a vandal, right?
The fact, Mr.White is that I haven't admitted pirating software for any
platform since I was a pimple faced geek ten years ago. Today I am a Senior
Network Administrator/Software Designer for a large company making damn good
money and *purchasing* all the software I own.
Now, if you consider my use of "Bard's Tale" for the Apple //e on my //gs to be
piracy, even though I no longer own the game, and I downloaded it from asimov,
then so be it. I am not going to argue the point. But I don't consider my use
of said software to be piracy. It is now 10 years after the fact. Get a clue.
You can split hairs all day, but I am not a pirate.
If you have any further comments, take them to email. Your moronic and mostly
irrelevent drivel is a detriment to the apple II community as a whole, and it
is a shame that people like you even have internet access. Go away.
