Re: Let Down at Goodwill

 Chet outgassed at BJ:

NC| : The Salvation Army store in Tacoma doesn't

There is more than one. The one on South Tac, no - never; the one on
6th may have but they closed recently; should be others in Tac? The one
in Sumner sometimes does, the one in South Hill has been known to, and
I'm told the new one in Kent/Des Moines does get some electronics. A
friend who worked at the Bremerton one said they do get them too. (So
there could be a difference between Pierce County and the nearby co's?)

NC| Many of the junk (Thrift Stores) ceased carrying computer
   | equipment as they dod not understand it. Considering the prices
   | that we have been discussing maybe it is not much of a loss....

I can't say "many", I can only say Salvation Army. I have no problem
finding computer equipment at Value Village, Goodwill, Shop & Save,
Bargain World, St Vincent de Paul (or the big stores; the small ones are
lucky if they get TI994A cartridges), Deseret Industries, and the
smaller chains (like Unique Bargains, Tacoma Thrift Centers, Thriftko).
It's the ma-n-pa places which are more geared toward antiques [the
places on 6th Ave in Tacoma, BJ] which aren't very computer literate.
