I am sorry to say that I have had similar problems with Goodwill in the
Bay Area. Goodwill used to have some bargains, about two years ago I
gave up on them when I found a Mac with two Unidisks connected to it and
tried to explain that they would not work on a Macintosh. The people at
Goodwill don't have a clue on computers. I once saw an 8088 machine with
no hard drive and no software for something like $150.00 when I could get
tons of the machines for about $10. each (no one wanted one anyway).

If you are ever in San Francisco check out Goodwill's "As is Store" it is
the closest thing to a street brawal I have ever seen. Apparently
Goodwill takes all of their broken junk and lets people fight over it in a
warehouse setting. Fights often break out in this place.

Recently I wanted to donate my old Trinitron to a good cause, and it went
to the local familiy shelter where the profits from it's sale went to a
legitimate cause. Goodwill is little more than junk dealer benefiting
it's management. I don't see them repairing or training to
repair anything. I recently saw ads for retail managers for Goodwill @ up
to $45K salary. I guess they have to cover all of their high costs
somehow.

Don't shop there and donate to charities who really help people.
