A Fair Deal
Our FAQs discussion has been interesting, fun, and, even, useful. In
fact, a consensus appears to exist regarding some key issues:
1. Access to csa2's FAQs must be unrestricted. The FAQs Keeper has no
right to restrict FAQs access to anyone.
2. The FAQs (i.e. the large body of questions & answers referred to as
"the newsgroup's FAQs") entrusted to Nathan's keeping and in which he
invested considerable work to expand are, at present, Nathan's property.
3. We should take steps to guarantee that future FAQs shutdowns do not
occur. Thus, the csa2 FAQs should be maintained on multiple A2 sites;
and, the csa2 FAQs must, from now on, be considered to be the property of
csa2.
Since there seems to be general agreement, why not settle things?
Sometime this week Nathan merely posts, on csa2, a message declaring that
he supports csa2's efforts to expand FAQs access as specified above. In
return ...
Nathan will be csa2's FAQs Keeper.
Nathan's current FAQs and any future revisions produced while he remains
FAQ Keeper will become csa2 property and placed into the public domain.
They will be the official csa2 FAQs.
Nathan will be free to descriminate against whomever he wishes regarding
access to his own website.
